Check out the new bike. Every time I ride the existing motorcycle into the shop for service, I start looking at the other bikes they have on display. I have always wanted a “K” bike. I found the new one on consignment for a very good price. It had about 6800 miles on it when I bought it (that’s barely broken-in for a BMW).

It’s a 2002 K1200RS. Some of the neat things about the bike are the ABS, 135 VERY smooth HP, servo assisted (power) and linked brakes (pulling the front brake applies the rear as well) and the heated grips (not that I will ever be out when it’s cold enough to need them).

The bike feels extremely fast. When I was about to ride off on it the mechanic said “if you see the speedo needle past vertical, stop looking at it cause you don’t want to know”. He was right. 0-60 in right around 3 seconds is a thrill. Haven’t topped it out yet (probably never will) but I am completely confident that it will do 150mph+ like it’s supposed to.
